how we get subliminally influenced

Every time we read a headline that starts with something like this " Apple Cider Vinegar helps blood sugar, body fat, studies say"....a part of our brain gets impressed and wants to believe it.

While this is nothing but sheer and mere gossip at the time, if you quote a study or a expert sounding source, it sounds legit.

And we all keep falling for this! We may not know, who did the study, how they studied, and how to validate the so called findings and assertions. That is too complicated and undo-able. But what is doable is 'believing' the undo-able!

Human condition. Marketing hinges on it.

things that disturb me when i step out in the world and they hit my eye

Watching a cow eat polythene.
Seeing stray dogs, living in dust and neglect, limping and rummaging through trash
people living in ways that are not clean, dignified and pleasant
seeing headlines like these >> "Cheetahs heading towards extinction as population crashes" >>

Things like this make me sad. I am part of the human race. I both hate and love it. Hate it for what we do to our Earth and its inhabitants and environment.
Love it for setting the description for what is indeed human and beautiful.

And it always ultimately brings me back to a philosophical and paradoxical question.

What is actually good and bad? Is it not relative?

Rumi

Rumi fascinates me, just like he seems to fascinate millions. He seems to speak from the past, right into the present moment, whispering into the blood and soul of the listener.

That seems to be the power of his words. As soon as you hear them, a chord plays in your heart, dissolving a cool sensation of peace within.Sample this:

"Let go of your worries and be completely clear-hearted,like the face of a mirror that contains no images. If you want a clear mirror, behold yourself and see the shameless truth, which the mirror reflects. If metal can be polished to a mirror-like finish, what polishing might the mirror of the heart require?Between the mirror and the heart is this single difference:the heart conceals secrets, while the mirror does not."

Rumi is a keeper. His words may for long feed my soul. Because those who recognize truth, know, he speaks from Love ...not religion.

Clean Slate

12-23-2016

Deleted all my previous posts. As it is I wrote rather infrequently totaling to about a dozen posts in 3-4 years, but why did I delete these posts?

The reason is multi layered. One, A lot of it is so simply stated, it reveals my heart and mind at a personal level. And secondly mostly it is just never revisited. Seem like words put out there, lost to infinite space and time, gathering dust and ignominy.

So thought, since no one..not even me reads them, why not start afresh. Also, from the beginning of whenever, I have always burned off my journals physically from the previous year as I enter into a new one. I burn them, also partly because as much as I can't help expressing myself plainly and honestly, I also don't like revealing myself that openly, defenselessly to anyone at random.

One may be a open book, but there is no reason to keep the pages open for the ends of time. Those who missed the chance to read these..missed it :).

So here's to more writing...honest writing...good or bad..artless and as honest as can be, when you are aware you might be judged. When you know you will be judged, it may change what you say..or at least it may force you to choose, what you would like to put out there.

Contrary to initial popular beliefs...Internet shows you, you can't be truly anonymous. There is always a trail, provided someone knows how to crack it.

I don't understand it..but wish I did. If I knew exactly how it worked, could I break the system? or is the system fundamentally unbreakable. Is there any law, that has ultimate integrity. :). Now this is becoming a philosophical question.
